Carbide milling cutter is a kind of milling cutter made of carbide. To understand carbide milling cutter, we must first know what carbide is. It is mainly composed of high-hardness refractory metal carbide (WC, TiC) micron-grade powder sintered in a vacuum furnace or hydrogen reduction furnace with cobalt (Co) or nickel (Ni) and molybdenum (Mo) as binders.

Carbide milling cutter is mainly used in CNC machining centers and CNC engraving machines. It can also be installed on ordinary milling machines to process some harder and simpler heat-treated materials.

When the carbide milling cutter core coincides with or approaches the edge line of the workpiece, the situation will be very serious, and the operator should do a good job of related equipment maintenance:

1. Check the power and rigidity of the machine to ensure that the required milling cutter diameter can be used on the tool.

2. The spindle is as short as possible to reduce the impact load on the milling axis and workpiece position.

3. Use the correct milling cutter pitch suitable for the program to ensure that there is not too much blade engagement with the workpiece. On the other hand, when milling narrow workpieces or milling cavities, there is enough blade and workpiece engagement.

4. Make sure that the feed rate of each blade is used to achieve the correct cutting effect when the chip is thick enough to reduce tool wear. Use a repositioned blade with a positive rake angle groove to obtain a smooth cutting effect and low power.

5. Choose a milling diameter suitable for the width of the workpiece.

6. Use the correct main deflection angle.

7. Position the milling machine correctly.

8. Use cutting fluid only when necessary.

9. Follow the rules for tool maintenance and care, and monitor tool wear.

Maintaining carbide milling cutters can extend tool life and improve work efficiency.
